Christmas Postcards
Santa Claus
Description
An account of the resource
This postcard is oriented vertically and has a white background. Around all sides is a white border. In the upper border it reads in all caps black lettering, "NATIONAL SANTA CLAUS SERIES." Below this is a frame, comprising most of the postcard, made of green holly leaves and red holly berries. On each side of the frame, overlaying the leaf frame, are criss-crossing green ribbons. Inside this frame is a background of the English flag, though most of the right side of the background flag image is red. In front of this flag is Santa Claus with a monocle. He carries a tan bag over his right shoulder full of toys. He wears a Sherlock Holmes style black cap with a checked pattern. His coat is made of the same material and he has a black belt about his waist with a gold buckle near his middle. He clutches the bag over his shoulder with hands in green mittens. He has long, thick white hair, a long, white and thick beard, and mustache and looks out at the viewer. Below the frame, it reads in black print on the right corner "2002," in the center it reads "ENGLAND," and above this from the center to the right of the card it reads "Copyright 1907 Mfg. Co., N.Y." Below this is empty white space for the remainder of the postcard.
