Description
An account of the resource
This postcard is oriented vertically and has an off-white border around all sides with 3D impressions of bells and ribbon. In the center of this border, a white card stock sheet is seen which reads in gold, green, red, and blue decorated script, "Wishing You a Very Happy Christmas." Below this, a Santa Claus wearing an emerald green coat and cap is seen. His hat is decorated with holly leaves and red holly berries in two spots. His cap is fur-lined and has black streaks of fur within it. His face is bright red and he is facing so that he looks to the right of the card and the right side of his face is seen. His robe has gold decorations on it. This figure of Santa Claus can be opened to reveal a wreath of holly leaves and berries with ribbon and small birds around it on the piece of card stock in the center of the postcard. Under this wreath it reads, "Home folks are the dearest." The portion of the card where Santa's face is seen reads, "Amidst the joys of Christmas-tide, Its sweet, unnumbered treasures, May you be safely bound up in and enjoy endless chain of pleasure" with a place for someone to personalize the card by filling in the "To" and "From" portions of it.

Description
An account of the resource
This postcard is oriented horizontally and has an off-white background. In the bottom left corner is a bundle of holly leaves and four, red holly berries. In the upper left corner in decorated script of blue, gold, red, green, and purple, it reads "Santa visits you to-day, may he bring good cheer, peace, content, and merriment for the coming year." To the right of this script is a young boy with straight, golden hair wearing a green and red outfit with tights. He faces toward a young girl across from him on the right side of the card. On his head is a green hat with a red feather and he holds a Santa Claus mask with a long white beard in front of his face. On his neck is a white fanned collar. His shirt has puffed shoulders with red and green stripes and is otherwise green with red cuffs on the sleeves. He has a red belt with a gold buckle and wears puffed green and red striped shorts with green tights. His feet are small and he wears red shoes with a slight heel. The girl across from him has dark brown hair piled on top of her head and pinned with holly leaves and berries. Her collar is large and white and fans out behind her. Her hands are clasped in front of her chest and over one elbow hangs a wreath made of holly leaves and berries. Her dress is golden with puffed shoulders with gold and blue stripes. The skirt looks like it has a hoop under it and has a blue stripe around the hem. She wears blue tights and brown shoes with a slight heel. She looks at the boy across from her with the Santa Claus mask.

Description
An account of the resource
This postcard is oriented horizontally and has a white background, edging all sides with a white border. Against the white background is a metallic and stylized gold image, made of various rectangular, triangular, striped, and circular borders. In front of this gold background, coming from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner is a stem of holly leaves and berries. The stem of this sprig of holly starts in the lower left corner with smaller leaves, and a row of three holly berries there. As the sprig stretches toward the upper right corner, there are more leaves which are larger in size, with more bunches of berries extending from the stem. Above the bottom of the stem on the upper left corner of the postcard is a red, irregularly shaped circle (similar to the looks of a wax circle). Inside of this circle is a black and white depiction of an African-American woman standing in the open doorway of a log cab in winter. Icicles hang from the cabin, and she stands smiling widely in the doorway with the door swinging open into the house behind her. She wears a long-skirted and long-sleeved dress (though the sleeves are rolled up to her elbows) with an apron over her middle. On her head is a hat and she reaches out in front of her with her right hand. Outside the cabin is an older, bearded African-American man with his right side facing the viewer. He uses a closed umbrella to lean on with his right hand and holds up a dead goose with his left hand. The white goose is held by its tied-together legs from the man's hand, which is covered by a mitten. He wears a black top hat with a long black overcoat that hangs open. Out of his pocket on the right side pokes a cloth. In the background behind him, snow covered pine trees are visible. In the red seal around this image it reads, "A Merry Christmas" in thin gold script.
