Edes Robe Tanning Company was located on Main Street. The building features the name on the facade of the building. It is also a brick building with two stories of windows. Along the street, and closest to the photographer is a large puddle of water where partial of the name of the building can be seen in the reflection of the water. The street is a brick street with some dirt and mud on the road. On the right side of the photograph is a car parked on the road. To the left, on the sidewalk, is a horse pulling a cart with a man and many boxes. To the left is another horse pulling a man with packages and what appears to be sandbags. There are also sandbags on the ground in front of the carriage. There is an open door behind the horse and carriage where many men are standing looking at the photographer.
