What our Barrage Done to a Dutch Track

A Dutch railroad track during World War I after it was hit by a barrage of American artillery and explosions. The track extends towards the back, middle of the photograph and the outside rails are very bent or broken completely. Toward the center on the right side, the track pulls out to the right and is separated completely. An allied soldier is standing in the middle with his body facing towards the left, but is looking straight on, towards the photographer. There are broken pieces of wood from the tracks that are scattered everywhere. There are also large holes in the ground that are also dark from explosions from artillery. The ground around the area is a flat grassland and there are only two small trees in the far off background that do not have any leaves on them.
