As the “Ins,” they considered the issues facing America as “A Bum Hand.”  On the other hand, the Democratic Party—represented by the donkey—could use this same hand to win upcoming electoral contests.  Political cartoonists, like John McCutcheon, use easily recognizable symbols and situations to efficiently convey information and entertain readers.]]></dcterms:description>

His uniform jacket is buttoned at the top and pulled open towards the button. His right arm is bent and his hand is in the air. He left arm is laying out to his left and his hand is not in the photograph. His left left is visible and bent with his knee angled to the right. There are papers to the right of the body that are laying on the ground. He appears to have a circular object on his right shoulder, possibly something to carry other things in.  His eyes are closed and he has his hair shaved to his head. The has a gash that extends from the top of his head, to between his eyes. His face is dirty and his lips are slightly parted. The ground around him is grassy and slightly torn up and in the distance it looks foggy or is just the quality of the photograph. ]]></dcterms:description>
