The &quot;Eclipse&quot; is on the right side of the photograph. People are standing on the bow of the steamboat with their backs facing the photographer on the first floor of the boat. the roof of the first floor says, &quot;Prarie du Chien, Guttenberg, and Dubuque&quot;. Men and women are sitting on the second floor of the steamboat at tables. The third floor features a few men standing around, two tall smokestacks, a bell, and a pilot house/bridge with a man steering the large wheel. The street is a brick street with some dirt and mud on the road. On the right side of the photograph is a car parked on the road. To the left, on the sidewalk, is a horse pulling a cart with a man and many boxes. To the left is another horse pulling a man with packages and what appears to be sandbags. There are also sandbags on the ground in front of the carriage. There is an open door behind the horse and carriage where many men are standing looking at the photographer. To the left and on the sidewalk is more men and another horse and carriage in line. Below this, on the street, is a man on a bicycle and another car parked on the street.
