Father Christmas is pictured in a long brown hooded robe and bushy white beard, although his build and face seem younger than generally depicted. He is holding a small evergreen tree. By his feet is a wooden cross, and a little further away a basket of toys and ax. Behind him is a snow-covered open space bordered by evergreen woods. The greeting in the open space reads "My Thoughts I employ / For the good girl and boy."
Young Children Outside and Father Christmas Inside
Description
Beneath the window of a house, a young girl and boy walk hand in hand. The girl is dressed in a white dress and bonnet, carrying a red knapsack. The boy is dressed in a white shirt and red short pants, held up by suspenders; he wears a wide-brimmed hat and carries a stick. Inside the house is Father Christmas next to a lighted Christmas tree. "Christmas Greetings" is printed at the bottom.
Depicted in black and white is a scene of two children, a young girl and a young boy, praying before bed. Both have their hands clasped and faces tucked near the edge of the white-covered bed; they too are dressed in white nightgowns. On both sides of them, their toys are also positioned to pray - a doll and toy horse are clearly visible. It is labeled "Little Tots' Prayer" and sideways on the right side of the card is printed "My sister Sue and I, we say our prayers, and Rocking Horse / and all the dollies, they do too, / And all of us we promise to be good, so God will try His / very best to do, / For Momma and for Papa and for Sue, and Rocking / Horse and all the dollies too."
