Next to her is Albert D. Hoffmann Sr. He is standing with his left fist on his left hip, the weight on his left leg, and his right arm reaching for the fence behind him. He is wearing a dark colored hat and pants, a dark tie, light colored shirt, and suspender. Next to him is his wife, Emma or Emily (Schumacher) Hoffmann. She is also wearing a light colored dress, a necklace, and a bouquet of flowers in her left arm and hand. Her wedding ring is visible. The group is standing in mud or dirt in front of a fence that is surrounded by trees and other greenery. Behind the fence is an open area, but through the slits in the fence, water appears to be visible below the open area. The bottom right corner of the photograph is ripped away.

Peter is holding two baskets full of berries in each of his hands and is looking down at them. Emil is funneling berries into a back with a paper. Albert is holding the bucket that Emil is funneling the berries into. Behind the men is a carriage with another basket on it. The carriage has a roof and is pulled by Prince the Horse.

Three men, from left to right, Edward Hoffmann, Emil Youngblood, and Albert D. Hoffmann are sitting in a boat along the bank of a creek or backwater of the Mississippi River. Thee men are fishing and each are holding a rod with a line in the water and are wearing hats. Two oars are on opposite sides of Youngblood. The boat is against the bank where there is a tree jutting out from the side of the bank with its roots exposed. The tree is growing at diagonal, over the water. The waterway extends behind the men and wraps around a tree-filled bank. The water is calm and the reflections of the three men are visible. The boat is raised towards the bank and more sunken towards Albert's end.
