The card shows a man with brown hair and a halo seated on the floor. He has a red cloak and animal fur draped half over him, although his chest is bare. He holds a bowl in his right hand and a white object in his left. A cross made of branches is in the lower right. It is labeled "San Giovanni Battista," translated to 'St. John the Baptist' from Italian.

Angels and Mary Weep at Foot of Cross with Jesus' Body

Jesus has been taken down from the cross. Wearing only a white cloth, he is laid in his mother Mary's lap; she is dressed in blue. To the left are three women with angel wings. The background of the card is a stunning sunset; cast aside on the ground next to Jesus' body is the crown of thorns.

Jesus is Put in the Sepulcher

Jesus, now dressed in a white burial robe but with face uncovered, is laid on a platform of stone by a woman - probably Mary - and a man - presumably Joseph of Arimathea. Two women with a jar look on from the background. In the far upper right, three crosses stand on top of a hill. "XIV. Jesus est mis dans le sepulcre." or 'Jesus is put in the sepulcher' is printed at the bottom.

Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross adn Handed Over to His Mother

Jesus, after dying on the cross, is taken down from it by a soldier on a ladder, his mother, and an older man (presumably Joseph of Arimathea). Two women weep in the background. "XIII. Jesus est descendu de la Croix et remis a sa Mere." or 'Jesus is taken down from the cross and handed over to his Mother' is printed at the bottom.

Jesus Dies on the Cross

Jesus, in only a loin cloth, hangs on the cross. "INRI" is on a plaque above his head, and he has a halo. Behind him is a crowd of people. Three women look upon him and weep while a soldier and another man watch. There is a crowd of more faces behind them. In the top left, the sun shines against a blue background. "XII. Jesus meurt sur la Croix." or 'Jesus dies on the cross' is printed along the bottom.

Jesus, wearing only a loincloth and crown of thorns, is laying on the cross while his left hand is nailed to it by a soldier. Two other soldiers in armor and helmets are playing dice for his cloak in the back right, while two women weep to the left. A plaque with "INRI" on it is laying near the cross. "XI. Jesus est attache a la Croix." is printed at the bottom, or 'Jesus is attached to the cross.'

Jesus stands with arms outstretched and looking towards heaven. Two men in short wrapped robes are removing his vestments - he wears a red cloak and a white shirt in addition to the crown of thorns. Another soldier with a spear and helmet stands behind them, and two women weep together in the background. There is also a building in the distance on top of a hill. "X. Jesus est depouille de ses vetements." or "Jesus is stripped of his clothes" is printed along the bottom.

A man in yellow tries to pull him up while a soldier on a horse points onwards and another in the background carries a ladder. Printed at the bottom is "IX. Jesus, dressed in red and white with a crown of thorns and his cross, is consoling four women. Two stand behind him, both in blue - one with her hands clasped above her head. Another woman in green and red with a blonde-haried, white-clothed child kneeling beside her kneels at his feet. Printed at the bottom is "VIII. Jesus console les filles d Israel qui le suivent." In English, one translation is: "Jesus consoles the girls of Israel who follow him."

There is a soldier behind him pulling him up, and two men, one of them probably Simon, standing behind him on the other side. "VII.
