Santa Claus is dressed in a short red coat and long tan stockings. There is a bulletin on the white and green brick wall that says: "A Toast to Christmas / A toast to Christmas, the / day of good cheer, / No other can equal it during / the year. / May it be for you the jolliest yet; / That's what I'm wishing for / you - you bet!"
Santa Claus is seated at a silver table. In one hand he raises a glass in a toast, and in the other he is lifting a spoon from a bowl of soup to his mouth. "A Merry Christmas" is printed at the top with this poem to the right: "Cast dull care away, / For here's to Xmas day. / Join the festive bowl, / And be a jolly soul."
Santa Claus is dressed in a red coat; his face is quite red as well. In one hand he raises a glass as a toast, and in the other is a smoking cigar. There is holly behind him, and in front of him there is an ornate cornucopia-like decoration with an eagle, fruit, and nuts. In its center is a blue and white crest with the words "To All Best Christmas Wishes."
The upper part of the card depicts Santa Claus in his red suit with a crown of holly seated at a small table. He pats his belly with one hand and raises a goblet in a toast with his other. In front of him is a large metal bowl and spoon. Two ornaments hang from the table, depicting a turkey and another meal. The landscape below Santa is a horsedrawn carriage moving away from a house and the tree-covered hills in the background.
The card is separated by a holly leaf into two scenes. To the left, a woman in a yellow dress with her hair pinned up reads a card. To the right, a well-dressed group of two men and two women sits around a table making a joyful toast. The message at the top reads "Christmas Post Card for Drummers / 'Tho far away, my thoughts to-day / Are of you, my dear, and home: / Stern duty parts two loving hearts / And sends me forth to roam. / The season's joys for you and the boys / Your wandering hubby - alone!"
This leather postcard has a darker brown edging around all sides. On the left, it shows a fireplace with a roaring fire and Santa Claus wearing a long red robe with boots pouring a drink from a flask into a shot glass. He faces the fireplace and looks over his left shoulder. He has a large white beard and wears a striped cap. To his right it reads, "Merry Christmas Have one on me." Under "Christmas," is a decorative typographic flourish from the "y" in "Merry." An imprint that reads "E.D.H." is visible in the space below the typography.
