The soldier is wearing his uniform and jacket and has some sort of cylinder canteen or carrier. The soldier&#039;s left arm and hand are at his left side. The right arm is pulled up over his head and bent slightly towards the photographer. The body is laying on a knapsack or other object that elevated the top part of the body. The soldier&#039;s head is just a skull remaining and angled slightly towards the photographer but looking to the left. While the head is skeletal, the hand do not appear to be. The entire body is laying horizontal and the bottom portion of the legs and feet are not visible in the photograph and are towards the left side. ]]></dcterms:description>

The ground in the front of the photograph appears to be split with roots visible. The tank appears to be upside down or just a side view. The track on the bottom of the tank that helps it move through the mud is facing upwards in the air. On the left side, the track is bent upwards and is separated from the rest of the tank. In the middle it is separated again and arched high in the air. There is a German Iron Cross on the left side of the upturned tank. There is also an opening towards the middle where a dead body is lying. The body is faced downwards with the legs in the ground that is split and the rest of the body inside of the tank.
