The photographer stands on the sand along the banks of the Mississippi River at Eagle Point Park in Dubuque, Iowa. There are children in the water swimming and playing. There is a boy sitting with his arms extended behind him sitting in the sand, looking out towards the water. There is a tall platform in the water on the left side of the photograph with a group of boys standing on the top waiting to jump into the water. There is some kind of dark structure in the water that some kids are sitting on. This structure may limit the kids from swimming out too far into the River. The tree covered banks of Wisconsin are visible on the other side of the river.
