Title
[Steamboat Moving Along Mississippi River]
Creator
Hoffman, Peter B.
Description
The Mississippi River is in view with a steamboat in the background on the right side of the photograph. The steamboat has to large steam pipes in the front of the steamboat and in front of the pilot house that sits on the roof of the second level of the boat. Near the stern is the name "E. Routledge" and on the stern is the large paddle wheel that is in motion, bringing water up as it turns. There appears to be some sort of debris in the water in front of the steamboat, and heading horizontally towards the left side of the photograph. There is greenery in the foreground on the left side of either a part of an island or the bank of the river. In this greenery is a lighter color from damage of the photograph. A tree-filled bank can be seen on the opposite side of the steamboat.
