I did not have an opportunity to contact you on the way from Ft. Lawton to my new assignment at the Hd. XXI Corps at Camp Polk La.

In my last letter I left you under the impression that I would be out of the army soon.

With to-day in the news we can't say how long will be here.

Glad to hear from you or in fact from anyone.

Don't say that I didn't try -- I tried so after to get in touch with you that I felt like Ida Mae.

So sorry not to have written sooner.

I appreciated the fine letter, it is strange that once the war ended, the old mail bag slimmed right down and news became scarce as good whiskey, and boy let me tell you that is nighty scare (the letter is 'm') (plus a 'c').
