Catholic Life in the Archdiocese

The Dubuque Archdiocesan Archives and the Center for Dubuque History at Loras College have combined their parish history holdings to create a collection of materials that help to tell the story of Catholic life in the Archdiocese. The full collection is permanently housed at the Pastoral Center, 1229 Mt. Loretta Ave. in Dubuque, however a summary of the holdings is available here as part of the Archbishop Kucera Center publication series, “Spiritual Life in the Upper Mississippi River Valley.”

Please take a moment to review the collection which contains descriptions and images of a wide range of parish materials—from church land deeds to Jubilee booklets; from photographs of important moments the life of a congregation to examples of how parishes reached out to their surrounding communities.

If you have any questions or would like to view the permanent collection, feel free to contact us.
