Santa Claus, Tree, and Story

Title

Santa Claus, Tree, and Story

Description

Santa Claus in a red suit leans against a moss-covered tree with one arm. At his feet is a bag of toys. The grass is dotted with flowers, and the background is blue sky. To the left of the card is a long story called "The Origin of Spanish Moss." It's a story about Santa bringing Christmas to children in the "sunny South." As he flew south his coat and beard got hot and he began to sweat, so he hung his "old wet whiskers" in a tree to air. People try to tell that what's hanging in the trees is "Spanish Moss," "But we know they are all dead wrong." The verses and art work were by C.V. and I.V. Bush.
