Father Christmas with Baskets of Toys

Father Christmas is dressed in a heavy blue coat. His hat seems to be army-style with a cross on the front. He carries a shepherd's crook as a walking stick. Over both arms he carries wicker baskets full of toys and gifts, and in his right hand also holds a lighted and decorated Christmas tree. Printed at the bottom is the greeting, "Der Weihnachtsmann zieht auch ins Feld / Er hat sich nämlich selbst gestellt / Und teilt trotz Krieg und Schlachtengraus / Auch heuer seine Gaben aus!" Or, roughly, 'Santa Claus also moves into the field / He has made himself / And despite war and battle horror / Also this year distributes his gifts!'
