St. Joseph (Earlville, Iowa)

"Only four Catholic families were living in the town of Earlville in eastern Delaware County, when Saint Joseph Church was built in 1886. The project was sponsored mainly by townspeople who were not Catholic. They thought another church in the community would bring more Catholics and business. Priests of the Dyersville parish began to care for Saint Joseph’s in 1911, and soon the Earlville mission was placed in charge of Father Henry Dunkel."
