Five men may be seen working in a large, dimly lit office. One man is standing behind a long wooden counter that extends along two sides of the space. A customer, possibly one of the photographers, is standing opposite the man, on the other side of the counter. They are looking at large documents that have been unfolded on the countertop. The other men are working at desks. A large stove, cabinets, and a bench with a bookbinding press are visible behind the counter. A bookcase filled with large, thin volumes may be seen in the rear of the room. The number “76” has been written on the emulsion side of the negative and is visible in the upper right corner of the picture. No number is written in the upper left corner.
