Description

Two boats, a barge, logs, and other debris floating in the water may be seen in this view looking west into the harbor with the Dubuque waterfront in the background. The Mississippi River reached the 18 foot stage on April 13 - the highest in over 28 years. The McFadden Coffee & Spice Company and the Hotel Julien are two of the buildings visible in this image. The spires of St. Raphael’s may be seen behind the McFadden Spice building. The number 1341 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
