[Painting the steeple of the German (Grace) Methodist Episcopal Church, Dubuque, Iowa]

A ladder has been placed against a wall and the steeple of the German (Grace) Methodist Episcopal Church at 1681 Iowa Street in Dubuque, Iowa. A man is holding the bottom of the ladder. Another man has climbed to the top of the ladder, and is reaching through the rungs of the ladder. A third man may be seen at the very top of the steeple. The photographer has indicated that the men are painting the steeple of the church. The number 1311 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
