Creator
Loemker, Herman J., 1868-1937
Description
A large group of men, women are gathered on concrete steps and a grassy bank. The end of a brick and stone building is partially visible behind the group. This structure is probably the Academy of the Immaculate Conception, located at 17th and Iowa Streets, and across 17th street from the Methodist Episcopal Church where the photographer was the pastor. See LO 090 for a view of the front of this building. Two young girls are also posing with the group. Many of the adults have name tags pinned to their dresses or suit jackets. The photographer’s notes indicate that the individuals in the image were attending a Sunday School convention, and that the image was taken between May 24 and May 27, 1915. The number 2013 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
