Creator
Loemker, Herman J., 1868-1937
Description
A young man, dressed in a black overcoat and soft hat, is standing on the top of a limestone wall that, according to the photographer’s notes, is the foundation of an “old cathedral.” Note: the only building ever officially designated in Dubuque as a cathedral is Saint Raphael’s Cathedral listed in the 1916 Dubuque City Directory as located at Bluff and 2nd Streets. The original building has not been demolished. The number 1320 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
