Title
View of Horseshoe Bluff and Catfish Creek from Julien Dubuque's Grave
Creator
Hoffman, Peter B.
Description
Two men stand on a bluff that is over Catfish Creek. The photographer is standing behind a metal fence and the fence posts are visible in the bottom left corner. There are leafless trees in front of the fence, on the left side. The man on the left is standing, looking down at the creek, while the man on the right is bent down, with his left hand on his left knee, and pointing with his right hand down at the creek. The Mississippi River is visible in the back of the photograph and a train bridge separates Catfish Creek from the river. In the background of the photograph is visible steam from a train that is going over the train bridge. Catfish Creek seems to be flooded because there are trees in the water.
