Description
Three men are standing on ice that is on top of the Mississippi River. The water is standing right next to the men. Each are holding ice cutting tools and wearing coats and hats. Behind the men, on the opposite side of the river is a bluff covered in snow and trees. The man on the left is holding a cigar in his right hand and a saw in his left hand where the blade is resting on the ground and reaches to his waist. The man in the middle is holding a cigar in his left hand and holding onto the neck of a two-pronged ice tool, that could be known as a splitting fork. The man on the right is holding an ice tool in his left hand that extends above his head, rests on his left shoulder, and on the ground. It is a straight tool with a piece on the end that extends upwards at an angle, could be known as a pike pole or ice hook.
