Religion

As a Catholic college, religion was at the heart of life at Loras in the 1950s. Priests served as professors and administrators for the college, and sisters completed most of the daily labor on campus. The college held religious ceremonies and celebrations regularly. A shrine to Mary, the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, opened in the middle of campus in 1954.
